Unimog for North America

To whom it may concern,

Some time ago, you did express interest in our product, the Unimog. This 
message serves to inform you regarding the status 
of our project Unimog for North America. 

As you may be aware from the media coverage and Freightliner press releases, we 
had intended to market the Unimog 
through the Freightliner dealer network, beginning in March 2002.

Unfortunately the downturn in the North American truck market and it's impact 
on Freightliner requiered that this project had 
to be reconsidered. 

DaimlerChrysler Unimog Division in Germany is still committed to bring the 
Unimog U 500 to North America. We are working
on a new strategy and plan to be able to offer our Unimog  U 500 in the second 
half of 2002.
We apprechiate your interest in this exciting new product and will keep you 
advised of the progress and the availability.

us know your thoughts and comments.
